I'm doing a System for a client and he's hot on using his ipaq as a system remote. What is the best choice, software etc for this to work. Any help is appreciated

Check back down the previous threads, there is a lot of discussion about the options in this forum. Also have a look at the Pronto/Marantz forum for info on ccf files. Also check out thefile section on this site
But basically three bits of software for an iPAQ, and none of them great as yet, depends on the iPAQ model, if it has Consumer IR built in or not. The choices are Total Remote, and Netremote that are just starting to support ccf files as used in the Pronto type remotes, and PDAWin TV Remote, that does support ccf files, but has difficulty learning and replaying a lot of codes in ccf mode.
The best way to decide is to downlaod trial versions to the PDA and give them all a try. Total Remote and TVR both have built in functionality without using ccf files.
If you are doing it for a client, do not bother, if he can afford someone to spend weeks and months programing the the thing to get it to work correctly, at least start with a piece of kit capable of doing the job...Pronto/Marantz et al..
