but are you working on achieving support for the AXIM line of pda's? They seem to be the least expensive for the buck and like most of us thats what we are looking for. Something cheap that will serve as a TSU6000. And thanks for coming into the forum and assisting those with questions.

We are curious about the answer. If it's no we will live....most of us are adults. If you're too busy then say you're too busy. Thanks.

Sorry for the delay in reply, as I do not have the time to frequent these forums very often!

When you say "support for Axims", I know what you REALLY mean is "support for the Axim X5 series". That is just not possible.

The X5's audio port cannot reproduce a "high-fidelity" audio signal, and cannot be used with Total Remote's audio transmitter.

The X5's IrDA port is very, very weak and does not make for an adequate means of consumer remote control. TR works to MAYBE around 5 feet.

These are hardware limitations and will not change.

All that said, not only do we support the Dell Axim X3 but we are included on the companion CD as a free trial! The X3 series still lacks the ability to use our audio transmitter, but we have worked closely with Dell and their partners to insure the X3's IrDA port would be up to the task of consumer remote control. Dell and Griffin have verified that the X3's IrDA port works with Total Remote to a maximum distance of about 35 feet, well within the range of most living rooms.

Perhaps one day in the future it will be possible for us to support the X5 series using some hypothetical piece of accessory hardware that is capable of decent IR output. Until then, the X5 is (for both Dell and Griffin) not supportable for consumer remote control.
