After researching this forum for some time, I decided to try the IR remote extender from smarthome.com. I have a Visor, but like the idea of RF access. Anyway, after receiving the product, it was quite inconsistent. By calling them, I also learned that thay had charged me extra for phoning in the order, although I confirmed that no such charges are listed on the website. Also, I am stuck with the original (overcharged) shipping and the return shipping costs for returning the defective unit. Needless to say,I am currently waiting for the Omniremote Springboard module.

Sorry to hear you recieved a defective unit.
I had some problems when I first started using this type of device with my Palm 3.It turned out that I did not have the Palm trained properly.
For some devices I had to play with the cartrier frequency in the Omniremote software.
On some other devices the Palm would not learn the signals from an orginal remote for a device well enough to work consistently well, but it would from a universal remote with pre-programed codes in it.
It took some patience ,but I am sure glad I stuck it out,and got things working properly.
I truly believe that the Palm combined with this remote extender is the best value out there for a URC.

Unfortunately you have a palm, because the Springboard Module arrived and works perfectly. No more stuttering or missed commands. It hardly even needs to be pointed at the devices. It works better than some of the original remotes. A perfect solution for those that have a Visor. (I just wish it didn't cost half as much as I paid for my visor.)

Glad to hear your happy with the Springboard module.
As far as it being unfortunate that I have a Palm I have to disagree.
I have full house control without having to point the PALM,without the problems that you mentioned in your post.
This is a must for me because I have all my electronic equipment in a recreation room in a lower level of my house.I just ran speaker wires to different rooms in the upper level and have wireless video transmission to the t.v.s in the upper level.
