I have recently recieved a hand-me-down pda and would like to use it as a universal remote in my home theater. I have poked around this site some, but have become a bit lost in the lingo. I would give myself a B- in desktops computers, but a D- in pdas. I have a couple of basic questions - please understand my low level of expertise with pdas so don't use any big words!

The pda is a Sony Clie, PEG-SL-10, Palm OS 4.1, DragonBall VZ 33 mHx cpu, 8 mg internal, 320x320 display and a 16 mb memory stick.

- Is this a reasonable platform for a universal remote?
- What software do I need?
- Any other recommendations?

Thanks for your input!

Know nothing about the hardware, but try PDA win TV remote controller, or Novii remote. You will probably need some type of IR booster though.

Try omniremote and noviiremote, both have free demos. I think you will need an extender with the pda but it doesn't cost anything to try it without one. I think pda win is only for pocketpc devices.

I use noviiremote. I've got a sony T615 clie and I tried omniremote but I couldn't get it to work consistently.
