I just purchased a Mitsubishi RPTV, and I'm trying to obtain discrete IR signals to change from one input source to another (instead of continually pressing the INPUT key to get to the appropriate input source). I have found Pronto codes for these discrete IR signals. However, I do not want to buy a Pronto. Instead, I would prefer to insert these codes (if possible) into my Palm V, and then in turn use the Palm to "teach" my remote control unit of choice. Does anyone know if there is a way to utilize the Pronto codes in my Palm?

I too just purchased a Mitsubishi model WS55807 wide screen RPTV and am trying to do the same thing. I have gone to the Remote Central site and found what are supposed to be discreet codes for the Pronto and cut/pasted them into ORDesktop and down loaded to my palm V. I have not been able to make any of thes work yet. I want to use my Palm V to program a older Marantz RC2000MK II remote. If you or anyone has had success I would appreciate a copy of the codes that you find to work. Thanks;

forgive this newbie question (I'm sure it has been asked before... [grin])...

Will the ORDesktop read the pronto *.ccf files? I downloaded some of the pronto codes (for the Apex 660 DVD); but, I have been unable to open the files so that I could 'cut and paste' them. If the ORDestop will not open them, do I need to get the Pronto S/W?

You will need Pronto Edit to open the ccf files. You can get it from the Files section of Remote Central.

After you install Pronto Edit, download the ccf file you want and open it. Find a button whose code you need. Double click on it to bring up the Properties dialog. If you aren't already in the Action tab, click on it. Double click on the text in the right hand text box and that will bring up another dialog that has the IR codes in it. Copy that content and then paste it into the IR Code text box for the button back in ORDesktop.

Once you get Pronto Edit installed, it is very quick to copy the codes over.

Yes, It is very easy to cut and paste the codes from Pronto Edit into ORDestop - this of course presumes that I've started with the correct ccf files to cut and paste [grin]....(still fiddling with get the cut and paste codes to work - the learned codes are fine...)
