Hi.

I've read through the forum and can't find the answers to a few specific questions... so here they are!

1. Do the hard buttons work without switching the screen on? Or do you have to tap them twice (once to wake up, once for the action)?

2. Does the ipaq/pdawin combo support things like variable buttons where you just hold down the key to keep increasing/decreasing volume (for example)?

3. Does the ipaq have a motion wake-up sensor?

4. I currently have an RU890 and I really want more screen area... does PDAWin support the newer CCFs which have a greater editable area of the screen?

Thanks in advance,

Adam.

1. twice!
2.not sure.mine doesen't, but I understand it depends on the model
3.nope
4.it uses the pronto pro/tsu6000 ccfs and has therefore a larger screen area and 4 lower hard buttons

I have a ru 940 and ipaq 3800. All in all the ru940 is still the more reliable and user friendly remote (IPAQ is a very good reserve though) I guess it is a matter of taste. You'll have enough people who think the opposite (but most of them don't actually own a pronto and therefore can't really compare)

If I today would buy a PDA for remote, it would be an Axim with IR extender.Seems to be the most popular choice in this forum.

I don't know, it was definetly the more popular choice when PDAwin could not use the consumer grade IR of Nevo, but I think the tide has changed sinse then.
