Hi!

I've been using Pdawin software with e740 and the ir extender. Everything else works fine with my old ccf but the hardware buttons are jamming... So, every now and then, the volume button, for example, jams in the "up" -position and keeps sending the ir command until I turn off the e740.

Anyone else having the same problem or is it just me?

I just installed the software on my E750 and I'm having an intersting problem.

when I load the software the charging light flashes and the on screen buttons won't respond. I can navigate the menus so I know it hasn't crashed...but each time I try to tap a button nothing happens.

Have you ever experienced or heard of this...know of a fix?

Also, how do you like having the ir port on the side rather than on top? Do you notice a differenc in range?

Just to corroborate, I'm having the same issue. Anyone know of an IR learner program that is compatible with the e750?

Update: Vito makes one that is compatible, but is also horrifyingly painful to work with: It has no .ccf support, but even worse, its only templates are 'TV' and 'VCR'. Anything with a different control set requires making your own buttons one by one (no copy, no paste) and naming them using an extremely limited set of predefined labels (to give you an idea, there are no directional arrows). If you want to use text, it has to be on a particularly garish rectangular two-toned button. If anyone has found an alternative to this program for the e750, please, please let us know about it. In the meantime, Vito's fine offering is functional, at least in the sense that you can learn and emit IR commands without crashing the PDA. License: $15

e755 here, same problems as the rest of you. I've sent a note to the PDAwin folks, since I did pay for this bit of software. Hoping they'll stand behind it - looks like a fun little toy to have.

FYI, Total Remote works well with the IrDA of the e7xx devices, although only the older e740 will work with the audio transmitter (e75x series won't). As of v2.0 it also supports CCFs, and we LONG since figured out the bizzare trick needed to avoid crashing the e75x when accessing the various status LEDs. ;)
