After playing with the IR extender and TV remote last night I am very happy with the quality of the device. I have even managed to figure out how you program the rocker switch and nav pad.

But there is one major problem that I can't work out.

Whenever I leave the IR card in the CF slot and put the device back in the cradle and error message appears saying "A CF card error has been detected. The system has entered sleep mode to prevent hardware damage"
This happens all the time when I place the Axim back in the cradle.

I turned the laptop off last night (which the cradle is connected to) and went to bed. This morning when I got up the Axim screen was on but dimmed and it had the same error message on. Why did it turn itself on?

I checked in the syncing panel and it says the pda was last synced 2 minutes ago! How can this be when the laptop is not even turned on!

Can someone please help before I phone the supplier to ask what the bejiggins is going on?

Thanks

You may have a problem with the IR card, because mine doesn't do that.

There's nothing in the PDA-ir card that would cause this. I suspect it is a problem this Axim.

It only happens when i put it back in its cradle and it starts to sync. If the laptop is turned off it seems fine.

Tigermad,

Did you ever resolve this as I'm getting the same error. Do you know if it's definetly the IR card or the Axim?

Just as a note, I have been using the PDA-ir for a couple of months now and have NEVER received a message like this. I sync probably 10+ times a day, so I'm sure that it would have popped up by now if it were a PDA-ir error....because I leave the PDA-ir in the CF slot 24/7. To me it sounds more like something wrong on the ActiveSync end.

The only time I got that error is when I had pdaWIN set to CCF Mode, Output External Ir and tried to send a signal without having the CFIr in the socket.

Hello there chaps!....
I have just purchased an Axim X5 and am using the PDA-ir CF card (version 2 for use with the axim). I too am getting the same error message. I turned on the axim this morning to find the message even though I had not synched since last night.

I tried powering on and off the axim several times last night and did not get the error message. Does anyone know where the fault lies...is there a solution. I am happy to live with it...it is just annoying as much as anything...spoils an elegant solution really.

Regards Andrew
