I have my Dell Axim set up with the PDA-IR extender. I have it working with 57H81, SD5700, Denon AVR-3802, Pioneer CD, Panny AE300, SIR-T150, DVD-XP30, Denon AVR-3600. The only issues with me are slower volume control on the 3802 (slightly slower probably due to the release issue) and hard buttons vs. touchscreen debate (sometimes it is more difficult to navigate the DVD menu with the touchscreen but I suppose I could program that screen with the rocker on the Dell Axim). The last one is easily offset by the pros of backlighting, 1 remote for all, ease of use, and cool color graphics that will take you immediately to the channel desired. The first hopefully will be resolved soon but to me it is not a big issue.

Arnie,

I noticed you had the TWO ccf's for upstairs & downstairs. I originally had mine setup this way but tweaked it to be one by combining the two, adding the neccessary navigation buttons, and adding a front page that ask "Where Are You? Upstairs or Downstairs" taking me on the correct path. Now I never need to use the open the ccf file button. It is very impressive if I do say so myself.

"adjust volume in a continuous manner"

I can do this one by programming the up/down side
button on the Dell Axim.

How did you program this?

Yeah Clint, how do you program the up/down scroll button on the side separately? Mine seems to be tied into the navigation button up/down.

Sorry if I misled but it is tied to the center pad. I don't think you can program it separately. Up on the pad is the same as up on the side scroller.

I have lot of bug with PDA TV remote 5.4 on my dell
lots of freezes.... i must do a reset to run it after freezes !
what about you ?

And for some Devices (ex: HK receiver), i have to direct the PDA exactly to the device i have to crontrol !
For information with my ipaq + Ir booster i can send command to the same device without direct my PDA with precision !
What about you ?

thanks

How do you assign the volume controls to the rocker switch on the side or the nav pad.

Go into each device and program the buttons showing on the side. There are 5 buttons. Only four work unless you upgrade the Dell's center navigation buttin. The up/down pad programs also programs the rocker switch.

What about the other four buttons around the directional pad on the Axim. What buttons do those refer to on the pronto? I just want to make sure I get this all straight. Waiting on my IR extender right now and want to make sure I map things correctly. I upgraded my Axim so the center button works. So the four way rocker, plus center button on the rocker will map to the 4 way rocker on the pronto? The pronto does not have a center button correct? If it doesn't what does the center button on the axim map to? Also as stated earlier, what about the four buttons around the rocker on the axim, what do they map to. Thanks.

Each "device" shown in the ccf file will allow you to program the rocker buttons for that device so for example on TV device you could use left/right for channel surfing and up/down for volume and center for mute. On the DVD you could use the rocker for the DVD menu navigation but that will not allow you to adjust volume. You could program the two buttons to the left to do that but I like those for navigation. When you see the pronto in each device look for the 5 buttons on the right hand side. I believe the top one is the center pad enter? but I have not tried it as my Dell has not been upgraded. As far as left right and up down I cannot remember but I do know the up down is also the up down with the rocker switch.
