Hi there,

I know that a lot of us would love to see better colors on our iPaqs using the TV Remote Controller software. ie more than 256....

In the thread "65k ccf editing programs?" CarlSr stated something along the lines of Tonto being able to already do this.

Can someone please advise me on how to do this? Is there some sort of way of enabling more colors?

I tried a custom CCF & the button with a larger color range would not display properly.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

The 'custom' ccf mode is experimental in 1.42 and will be finalized for 1.43. 'custom' CCF's created with 1.42 may not be loadable under 1.43.

Having said that, you need to re-import any images into a 'custom' CCF to get a wider color range. I have only tested this with 24-bit+alpha PNG images and it works nicely.

Also, the 'custom' CCF's only work with NetRemote 0.975 and newer. Other CCF interpreters don't understand the necessary flags.

I tried to load an image with a higher resolution but with now success. I also tried a custom CCF again with no luck.

If someone is successful in doing this then we would be able to use photo quality images on our devices.

Come on surely somene can provide some sort of help with this issue. It would be one of the best enhancements that we could wish for.

Are you using 1.423? Have you 'converted' the CCF your using to 'custom' mode? What is the source format of the image in question? I'm using the custom mode with NetRemote (0.98) on an iPaq and others are using it with tablet pc's.

manc01,

Are you trying to use the custom CCF with PDAWin's software? I don't think it supports it.

Man, I hope that support gets added to a future release. That would be an excellent enhancement.

Regards. Jay.

Hi again,

I tried a custom CCF. The images looked great in Tonto but would not appear in the remote when loaded. I also tried a normal Pronto CCF with a picture of a higher color range & it looked awful.

Does anyone know of how to enable the greater color range. It would look AWESOME trust me, the basic custom design was fantastic. It really is worth someone looking into this.

The custom CCF's are only supported by NetRemote 0.98 at the moment. The PDAWin author(s) have not contacted me for the relevant info to enable extended colors and larger panels.

I asked Pdawin for custom ccf support and had the following answer:

If custom .ccf file could be use directly in Pronto hardware it should works also with our software.

That doesn't help very much. I hope they will support custom CCF in the future.
I've not yet tv remote controller but I plan to buy it with a Dell Axim, and I'm going to realize the IR booster according to the schematic featuring on their site.
