Hi guys. I'm in the process of looking for a new remote. I've been wanting one for a long time but 400.00+ is just too much for me to justify to spend for just a remote. I would however spend that much or a little more on a PDA, which I need for work and school, and to use as a remote. I've been viewing some of these threads for the past few days, and I'm not so sure if the PDA works as well as a Pronto. here are my questions.

1. Do the programs you use on your PDA to be used as a remote work as well and similar to the Pronto?

2. Which would be the best PDA to use as a remote for less than $600.00

From reading some of the posts, I have concluded that most PDAs have an IR distance problems, but it seems that it is easily solved by an IR extender of some sort

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

Have a search through here for any postings from Dave Houston and myself.

We've gone loggerheads at each other once or twice, but have both made some good points on the subject.

I think I also posted something on the PDA-Pronto remote question in the Pronto forum.
