Well I have a Ipaq 3850 and was messing around with PDAwin. Well it lead me over to this site and now I see Total Remote. Which would be the wisest to get?
I was going to purchase the one from pdawin today until I got here.
I downloaded the total remote and havent tried it yet. Does seem like more options and stuff.
with the one from pdawin I got our tv and dvd changer working ( this morning ) so tonight i will mess with total remote but looking for suggestions.....

thanks and all suggestions are well appreciated!

Well, you're on the right track by downloading them both and trying them out. The remote that works best for you is very much a personal preference.

That being said, I use PDAWin for one reason only...support for CCF files. I don't think Total Remote supports them.

Well I like the look of the Total Remote. Also does the external antena that seems to plug into the speaker socket work better thant the normal ir port?????

well i guess the other thing is that there is so many ccf files now. So maybe buy both would do.... I dunno I am gonna try the total remote tonight... I downloaded the Harman Kardon AVR-65 receiver ccf for the pdawin remote and it looks like junk but has a sub area for tuner??? that is nice... as long as it all works....

I'd have to recommend Total Remote. It got 8/10 in one review, 8.5/10 in another review, and 4.5/5 in another review. That doesn't suck.

And since he hasn't, I have to tell you that Don designed TotalRemote so his views might be a tad biased.

I evaluated both PDAwin and TotalRemote and PDAwin was the winner. The best features are support for .ccf files and being able to use ProntoEdit for creating them. Total Remote pretty much requires you to be a graphics wiz to create custom skins. I also found that TotalRemote ran slowly from the secure digital card on my IPAQ, while PDAwin did not suffer this speed penalty. I have communicated my evaluation to PDAwin... we'll see what happens in the next version.
