Hi,

I created my own CCF with the Pronto program and copied it onto my PDA (e740). After learning and testing the commands, I copied it back onto my PC to add some new devices, but when after klicking on the file to open, the program closes w/o any notice.

Please Help :(

TIA

I thought you couldn't learn fuctions with CCF Mode per PDAWins website? I am waiting for my iPaq 3635 to arrive. I have made layouts but have not found all the codes for my equipment.

You can learn your devices with you PDA and use them with the CCF's?

I have tested the learning process for PDAwin 5.1 with a custom .ccf file on my IPAQ 3835, and copied the .ccf file back to my pc. It appears as though all the learned functions contain appropriate hex codes when opened in ProntoEdit. I'm still testing/developing, so I'll report back to let you know if the codes truly work when copied back to the IPAQ.

Yes, absolutely, you can learn your devices when in CCF mode. I 'learned' 6 different remotes this way and it works great.

You might be confused by this line from the PDAWin website.

"...You can enter "Learn" and RC5 IR codes. TV remote controller does not work with entered RC6 IR codes end predefined devices codes in ProntoEdit software. If you want to use RC6.... IR codes just learn these codes with your PDA."

This confused me at first as well. I still don't really know what it means. I don't think English is this person's first language. In any case, you should be able to learn and use codes from all your remotes.

Regards. Jay.

I just experienced the same issue. Copied the .ccf to my IPAQ, learned some functions, copied it back to my PC, and ProntoEdit started to open it then closed in the blink of an eye. Luckily I had saved a backup of my .ccf so did not lose any work. From now on I will backup every time I copy to my PDA. Anyone know a possible cause for this issue? My .ccf is not terribly large (406 kb), so I am guessing that there is some learned command that is incompatible with ProntoEdit?

ProntoEdit does have a max file size. I don't recall what it is but it probably depends on the memory in the model of the Pronto used in ProntoEdit. Search the Pronto forum. The Registry entries were noted there recently.

It may be that your file has grown beyond those limits after adding codes to buttons.

Has anyone got a solution for this? I am experiencing the same problem after spending the best part of 3 hours setting up my CCF :(

Thanks
