Hi there!

I already have at home a Marantz RC5000i that is working. Main problems are the screen and the fact that it reboots itself really often. I already used the Hyperterminal way trying to reduce these reboots and yes, it is better now, but still a PITA.
As I have some CE devices hanging around, I loaded TVRemote on my Ipaq yesterday. My CCF worked right away! Even the fancy macros I have.
My main concern is that with the Marantz I can be anywhere in the room, not pointing to any particular device, and it works! With the Ipaq, it works kind of ok for the devices in front of me but the projector that is above me, ceiling mounted, it does not work. I need to stand up and point it to the Projector.
I know there is a CF card that is basically a stronger, wide angle, whatever IR that I can add to the Ipaq on its sleeve.
Will this fix this limitation and allow the Ipaq to work from anywhere as the Marantz?
If it does, check Ebay for a Marantz on sale this week! And no more crashes! Something I thought it was impossible!

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post,

Cláudo Rodrigues

The CF extender will be a big improvement over the internal IR but it is likely to be weaker than the Marantz. There's only 3.3V available where the Marantz probably has 4 emitters and 6V.

PDA-ir has a 40 degree beam angle and better than 50 foot range. It will not fill the room but will require you to point it in the general direction of the target. I doubt you'll need to stand to hit the projector.
