I have a Sony Clie PEG-N610C (silver version), sitting in it's box. I THOUGHT it would make me more "productive" at work (LOL)! Anyways, I saw the ProntoLite software available. Does anyone know which software works best for my Clie? Also, do any of them utilize the hard buttons on the Clie? How is the IR power on the Clie compared to the Palms? I have a Yamaha RX-V1 receiver, and everything else is Sony, with a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 digital cable box to control. I'm tempted to buy a Yamaha RAV-2000 (pronto tsu2000), as it has ALL the Yamaha codes built in. Thanks!

Using the N610 as a remote would only be a novelty. The range of the IR is very limited. Basically, you would have to be about 2-3 feet from the device you want to control. Sony corrected this with the T615. This unit comes with a higher powered IR emitter. So basically, to answer your question about using the N610 as a remote. Don't bother.
