I am trying to design my own buttons for my 9200. I have Corel 7 and PaintShop Pro 7.

I am creating the buttons at 10x final size in CorelDraw, using a contoured frame and a graduated fill, and using the full prontopro pallette. I then open them in Corel Photopaint, and resample to the final size, and save as .bmp. I have tried all the dithering and anti-aliasing options I can find, but I cannot get the graphics to look "smooth" ( as far as the fills are concerned. The outlines are OK, but the fills are very blocky).

Can someone who creates there own buttons give me some advice? I have read Daniel's Tips. Solid colours are fine, just graduated fills and lighting effects giving problems.

I need to find out the best colour depth, dither and anti-alias settings to use at each stage, and what to save as at each point.

Cheers

Steve
