What I really want is a remote control interface for with TV guide listings so I can surf what's on without having to put something on the tv screen.

Also the interface should let me have all the artists in my 2 400cd changers listed with searching and advanced playlist tracking.

These are the things no remote program for the palm ( nor any other remote ) offer.

Of course in an ideal world it would also be able to set up recordings on my Tivo...

I am working on a solution to what you describe above.
Would you like to be a beta tester?

I would definitely be interested in testing something like this out. I have an old Palm IIIc that is begging for remote use.

You say you have TV Guide and CD Changer Listings? Also how about MP3 Listings from Media Jukebox? Also an ability to database my DVDs would be useful...

Cover art of course would be golden, but the amount of space it would take would probably be too much for my IIIc, now my Clie 760 with 128mb memory stick... That might just work well.

I have a Sony RM-AV3000 which was not my first choice for a universal due to it's lack of any pc or palm interface. I'd love to be able to use my Palm (model V) since it has a built in io connection to my pc and more importantly, it's already paid for. It was only due to an incredibly great deal that I ended up with the Sony and I've really come to love it since it took under 30 minutes to program the commands that used to require about 10 different remotes. It's still lacking the pc interface though which I've been thinking could be done via my palm pilot.
I'd be very interested in participating in your beta testing and any ideas you might have about how to pass data between my palm and my sony remote. Please e-mail me at [email protected] or just reply on this thread. Thanks.

ConnectedTV is a universal remote for the Palm with a built-in personalized television guide. You can hot-sync up to 2 week of tv schedules, filter them according to your preferences, and change the channel by stroking the name of the show. http://www.Connected.TV
