There are some palms on a market: 3Com Palms, Visor delux, TRGpro and others.
Which from this set has enough IR power to control electronic devices in 4~5 meters distance?

I am sure, I will never buy an extender pluged in on top ot bottom of palm. It makes crazy to use the palm and keep it in a pocket.
The idea is to use device to amplify a IR signal. Mount it on lamp under a ceiling...
But only one solution is good. Palm with good IR transmitter.

If it does not exist I am determined to wait for better palm computer.
regards Tom

I'd suggest a Visor and the OmniRemote Springboad module from www.pacificneotek.com.

The Springboard module does not change the "footprint" of the Visor. The IR range is very good with the module.

Tom: There are always the IR extenders mentioned in other threads in this forum. Worth a consideration.

The module goes inside the Visor so that the size of the Visor does not change. There is nothing sticking out on the outside.

I have found an info on:
[Link: members.aol.com]

"Universal remote control! The RedHotLink works great with OmniRemote software (wish #4 :) It's short range but if you make a little mod to your Pilot you can increase the range to 20-30 feet!
Mod....Just reduce the value of R100. (this will void your warranty and should only be done by someone comfortable working with surface mount components).
"
Does someone know which resistor can be modified in Palm for changing a power of build in IR emmiter?

The last question about IR module to palmIII. Does it use durable connection? If I will 1000 times connect and disconnect it from palm , the connection will function good? Will the module have stable connection with palm after it?
