I am interested in a IR extender for an ipaq 3800 series. It is a compact flash card that boosts the IR signal.

[Link: myelectricdog.com]

Does anyone know if this just slides into the top of the PDA?? or do you have to buy a sleeve so the card can fit into? I dont think im really interested in it if its going to make the PDA bulkier, or if its going to stick out, making it easier to break if ever it gets dropped.

So if anyone knows of this, please let me know =)

Thanx

The 3800 has a "SD Memery" slot not a "CF" slot. You will need to buy a CF sleeve. The PDA-ir will work with a CF sleeve and the remote tv Software at http://www.pdawin.com
PDAwin is working on getting the software to work with PCMCIA with an adapter.

I have just received the CF IR extender from myelectricdog.com The card works as advertised and has excellent range. I have beenusing .ccf files for the Pronto on my Ipaq along with the Compact Flash Sleeve. The PDAWin software and the IR extender work great together. For a total cost of $85.00 for the software, CF sleeve, and CF IR extender card it is a great item.

when using it as a remote, do you have to:

-turn it on and load the program to use it?

-or can you just press the sceen and the appropiate sceen (remote) pop up?

-can you use the channel and volume keys when the pda is not on (sleep)?
