I noticed that inside the OR springboard Module there seems to be an unused area that was ment for RF. Has anyone else looked inside? Has anyone tried to add the components to make it work? Does anyone know of any future use by OR for this?

Pacific Neo-Tek were planning to release an OmniRemote Plus springboard module. I believe that this sb was to be able to control X10 products, though I'm not sure why it wasn't developed but the space is there.

May I ask Visor users if they're happy with their OmniRemote Springboard module? I'm thinking of buying one, but want to talk to end users, first. How's the distance? The dispersion? The form factor? The useability? The battery drain, etc.?

Thanks,
James.

So far the only problem is battery drain. If you use it to scan through the tv channels all the time etc. you'll drain them real quick.

I added the missing parts for the X10 area. The problem was that the software does not support the X10 codes, but by using ORDesktop I was able to paste them in. Everything is working great.

I am using OR+Springboard module & ORDesktop. Everything works fine except I am unable to make the Philips TiVO remote control commands work - they train fine on the Handspring (acc to the OR software, beeps and such) but do not *DO* anything when activated. Other IR commands such as for TV, VCR work fine.
Any ideas what could be going on / how to fix this ?
Thanks
Robert

Are you going into "Training Settings" and setting the Freq. and Sample rate? I've had good luck with the auto detect.

Does anyone have a list as to what the actual components are that are missing from the Omniremote Springboard that enable X-10 control? I was also curious if anyone has added the secondary LED as well.

Thanks!

I have added the missing parts for X-10 and it works like a dream. I'll get a list together for you if you want to give it a try. Do you have any soldering experience? You'll also need to have the X-10 codes since they are different than the ones used for IR. You will have to use ORdesktop to add the codes since Omniremote does not support them alone.

Ugly, could you send me that info too?
RSeidl, is that OR+Springboard you speak of an actual OmniRemote Plus that already HAS the X-10 stuff in it?

Thanks!!

I was told that there are different revisions of the board. I've only converted the one which looks to be OSB4. Has anyone that opened theirs found a different board version?

I'll get a list together and send it to you. What house code and devices do you need the codes for? I'll have to get them from another source since I'm not sure how they are formated yet.

On housecode "H" I use devices 1 through 12 and on housecode "I" is use devices 1 through 3.

Thanks!
