I take it from reading several posts here that the 'OmniRemote' software for the Palm is favored over the other offerings out there. If not, what is the best R/C software for the PALM.
I'm considering using my Palm to create descrete codes for learning to my MX-500.
Does OmniRemote allow you to input descrete IR codes?
If not, is there other software available that does?
Since I already have a palm it seems like an easy way to get descrete codes.

I've got an MX-500 and a Palm V and just d/l'ed a trial of OmniRemote to see if I could get the two to 'talk'.

I want to use the Palm to help me move/learn buttons on the MX-500. But I'm having trouble... I was able to learn a command into the Palm, was able to transmit that command to my receiver, but was not able to re-learn the command back into a new button on the MX-500. Despite putting the two remotes head to head at varying distances, I was unable to get the MX-500 to see the incoming IR command from the Palm and acknowledge with "Good."

I repeatedly pressed the learned button on the Palm (and even made a macro with transmitted the code 10 times in sequence) to no avail.

The only way I was able to (seemingly) make the MX-500 learn the command was when I pointed the Palm perpendicular to the MX-500 (shooting down onto the top of the IR sensor). The MX-500 would say "Good" but I couldn't ever get it to send the command to my receiver....

I'm wondering if there is some quirk about the way the Palm transmits the IR...? Not long enough duration (pulse)?

If anyone's had luck doing this, I'd appreciate any suggestions...
