Greetings All,

It seems that Pacific-NeoTek hasn't given up on OmniRemote 1.2 the Beta has just been released.

Plus they are supporting the HandEra 330 which has the most screen real estate and the most powerful IR spec of the PalmOS devices (or M$ PPC for that matter)

There was no comment as to whether they will support the Kyocera QCP 6035 smartphone.

Has anyone else tried the 1.2 beta with the m505. I tried it and it didn't work at all, it seems to learn the remote but it doesn't work. I tried the demo that came with the dev kit a couple of weeks ago and it worked so I'm kind of puzzled as to why the beta does nothing. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem as GSS.

It seems to learn fine on the m505, but when I actually try to use it, nothing.

Well, I've tried using OmniRemote 1.2 Beta 1 and Beta 2 on my m505, and they work fine with my pretrained databases. However, on a RCA TV I'm only getting a range of 1m, nowhere near the ~50 feet that PacificNeoTek is claiming with the Lego Scout. I do realize that they're different devices, but such a large difference is unthinkable. BTW, I previously owned a IIIc and it's got longer range with the RCA TV, using the same pretrained database.

Anyone else not getting the range they want?

I ended up getting the IR booster which really works well! It also increases the range of pointing angles considerably, i.e. you can bounce it off walls ...

With a IIIc I'm really looking forwards to the color icons, background and button bitmap support. You can hack existing button bitmaps with a resource editor, but it changes them on all panels.

All that and the Dev Kit - yowsa!
