Tony,
How did your project work out with the Slink-e and Sony Tablet pc? I'm thinking about doing the same thing with a Fujitsu Point 510 tablet pc and was wondering if there were any major issues that came up that I should be aware of. Also, is your tablet pc connected to the internet for tv listings, etc? Are you using this setup for home automation as well? Thanks!

The Slink-e (available several places online)
connects to a PC via a serial port (or via a USB-serial
port adapter) and will allow you to record IR
commands to your hard drive, without limit (unlike
other similar devices). It ships with an Active
X control for you to use in VB (or elsewhere)and
create a custom interface for using these commands
back out of the unit via its Xantech-compatible
IR emitter. Theoretically, almost anything is
possible. I have one back-ordered and can't wait
for it to come in. I have a Sony pen-tablet/LCD
monitor PC and intend to control my whole home
theater sys through it.
