iPad can't connect to MRX-8 Controller

First of all, I hope this is the right place to post this.
So, I'm testing out an URC MRX-8 on my own house. So far, it's working great. I added two android phones and an iPad. The iPad is my old 1st generation MB293LL, with iOS up to 5.1.1.
And it can't connect. A dialogue box pops up, saying "Your Total Control system was
not found. Please try to connect to your system again".
Both android phones work just fine, so I know I didn't screw up during programming.
I went to the Total Control settings tab on my iPad and it apparently thinks it needs to connect to an MRX-10, and won't let me change.
So, what am I supposed to do to get it to connect?

Ever resolve this? There are a few possible issues, including having the wrong iPad app added in the system. You can go to settings on the iPad and select TC and reset the controller. Close the app out and reopen.

This would have gotten faster attention in the URC sub forum btw.
