has anyone from this forum used openremote on a tablet or smartphone to control their living room media setup as an universal remote?

I love the pronto series, but they are discontinued and over priced. logitech harmony does not have discrete codes. out of all the remote apps for android and ios, openremote seems to have both home automation and media center control along with hopes of using XCF files from pronto codes. however, the whole interface and setup sequence is really confusing.

what I want to know is, has anyone successfully setup one of these? and if so, please shed some light on this matter.

thank you in advance
