Hi

I just purchased the RedEye universal remote, which works great with my home entertainment system. I'd like to be able to take it's ability further by purchasing something that will allow the Redeye to send an IR signal to a device that converts it into RF to replace the existing RF remotes I have for lights / ceiling fans, and power outlets. The device would need to read existing RF signals and convert them into an IR signal that the RedEye can learn.

Does anyone know of such a device?

Thanks for your help

What kind of lights do you have? I don't know of any general IR to RF bridge (though one may exist), as such a converter would need more than just the IR code to know what frequency and such to transmit. However, many companies offer bridges beyond IR. As an example, X-10 has a IR to power line device, and I think Lutron has a bridge for the RadioRA RF lighting control.

Thanks schalliol

I have just purchased new light switches and an IR to RF controller from X10. I'll use them to replace the existing RF devices, and they will soon be appearing on craigslist!

I am using Redeye with Insteon lighting. The ISY99i/IR is a modem convertor that works well.
