I am interested in using my iPhones and iPads to provide AV control at my dad's house and at my house. I want a system that can let multiple iOS devices connect and can maintain state (like the 890 Pro). I have a Mac OS X and iOS only environment, so any software needed to configure the system has to be able to run on Mac OS X or on iOS itself, and the server either needs to run on OS X or be an embedded device. Finally, every device (except the PS3/Blu-Ray player) supports serial or IP control) (Denon AVR 3311, Yamaha Z7, Olevia TV, TiVo Premiere, Epson Projector, and MonoPrice HDMI switch).

Any suggestions?

strictly IR control but it is appliance based and if you use our app with it then you do all setup on the iOS device itself only. no mac or server required.

I think your system is exactly the opposite of what I want, but I cannot tell from what I have read on your site. In my household, I have several people each of whom has an iPhone and/or and iPad. I also have several rooms. All the AV gear is controllable using IP or RS-232. What I want is an application that works with a stateful server (like the 890 Pro was), so that when a user launches the application it is in the correct state for the room (e.g. the volume shows the current volume level, the correct TiVo is selected for control, and so on). Without a stateful server, I am not sure how one can accomplish my requirement of allowing multiple iOS devices to control a common set of AV gear.

I use Girder with an HTML interface (mainly with my iOS devices). Girder keeps the state of things and allows me to have multiple users using multiple remotes all with current status of my stuff. Example: My wife dims the lights using the switch, if I am looking at the control (any browser any Internet connection) I see the change....
