Very cool app!

They utilize the BitWise Controls (www.bitwisecontrols.com) product to control AV gear. This is way easier to use than any of the fancy remotes on the market. I can never find the remote, but ALWAYS have my phone on me.

That's great! But how does the rest of the family control the system? Must be quite an undertaking just to watch a DVD or movie for a family of 5 or 6. What if the phone rings?

I think all of the iPhone/iPod touch/iPad remote control solutions are going to come into their own more so when iPhone OS 4.0 comes out where the WiFi connection doesn't need to be re-established, and the program can have "some" background abilities, etc.

Plus, there shouldn't be just ONE iPhone using the remote control software in a house where there is more than one person. Throw in an iPad and an iPod touch or two for the others. In fact, I doubt I'd use my iPhone at all. Either use an iPod touch, refurbished, 8 GB, or an iPad. No phone calls to worry about mucking up your HT/HA experience.
When ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise.
