Can anyone help - I need to control my projector with my HP PDA, but I have not got the original remote control! Do I need codes? Thanks in advance.

If you can't learn the universal remote control software by means of original remote control, you need the codes. You can look through a database of codes that is usually provided with the software. For example, with noviiremote you should the following:
1) find a needed codebase following the Wizard of the app
or
2) download a large database with ready-to-use codes from novii's forum
or
3) write to a support team with a request to find a codebase for your projector. They used to be very helpful
