Hello guys,

NoviiRemote Deluxe is new remote control for ppc/wm handhelds. I hope my short review might be useful for you.

I''ve always been flustered by the fact that I have at the very least a two remote requirement in each room of the house I have a TV. Whether it''s the universal remote that came with my dish/cable not supporting all the functions of my TV or the universal remote I bought not supporting all the features on either the cable or tv -- there always seems to be a need for another remote to get everything done. NoviiRemote Deluxe changed all that. Immediately after installing it on my PDA I found a codebase for most of my devices that, already just out of the box, supported more functions than my remotes. Even better, though, I found custom-programming it was an absolute breeze, if not pleasure. I''ve since "built" my remote setups from the ground up, optimized for my own television operating needs. While one might argue there should be custom button sets and/or backgrounds, that''s only minor cosmetic matter. The only real complaint I have is that I''ve found I enjoy tweaking my remote setups more than actually watching the television programming!

Mr. Twister, Hey - I accidentally ordered the Novii Blaster, under the impression it did macros... It doesn't (the Deluxe version does)... but- I've got to say it is incredible!!! It's equivelant to many of the $700 on up remotes out there, and an idiot like me had no problem setting it up... I have been hasseling with getting the deluxe upgrade out of Novii so that I have Macro functions...
It's funny, ya know... Every installer Pal I try to tell about how totally cool this is, tend to blow it off as a "TOY"... I wish more guys would be open minded about it, and try it out... Could seriously shake up the remote control market in a BIG WAY!!!
I thought when I ordered it for my Palm 72, that it was going to be a total joke... But after firing it up... my jaw hit the floor... It was like S***, why isn't this being used or talked about very much... I always thought guys who used Palms for Universals were talking out of their A**'s & basically considered those guys a big herd of nerds... But hey! It works really well - Full color, the full meal deal.

Can the delux version be demoed for a few days to see if it suits ones needs before buying?

Does it have a IR learning mode?

After looking at the site it looks like what I'm looking for.

Edit:

Nevermind I found the demo of the delux mode. The macros are pretty cool, but it would be really nice if the editor was moved to the pc so that it could be quicker to make the layout and load it to some sort of touch panel viewer program on the PDA. Best I've seen so far, but it only makes me want to make my own version.

Yes, there's a 10-day trial.

It has a perfect IR learning mode :)

He-he, that might be quicker. I hope the guys from novii will provide us with the editor soon.
