Hello all,

(I posted this in the Harmony forum, but thought I'd try to get some addt'l input)

I'm looking to buy one of these Harmony's everyone is raving about (need to consolidate remotes badly). I notice that the remote pretty much covers everything but PC's (particularly media functions). Does anyone have experience with possibly teaching a Harmony the functions / codes of a PC Remote (such as KeySpan's Digital Remote - [Link: keyspan.com])?

Theoretically this should work, teaching the Harmony the KeySpan Remote's codes and sending these codes to the KeySpan Remote's receiver. You can map keyboard keys to buttons making for many possibilities. But I'm just unsure at the moment. Any advice or different solutions for a Media PC?

I don't know much about the harmony remotes, but I have a Philips ProntoProNG 7000, and have been looking for a good remote for my pc. The price on this KeySpan remote at Amazon.com is only 19.99, and had good customer reviews, so I ordered one to try. The pronto remote should learn the IR from the Keyspan remote, so I should be able to use the Pronto to control my HTPC using the Keyspan's receiver. That's the plan anyways.

Thanks,
Mark

Received it today. I'll let you know how it goes. I don't know when I'll get it hooked up. I'm having problems with my HDTV. Dead bulb. Wonderful.

I use an old Pronto TSU100 remote and an IR Airboard. With some patient help form the folks on this site I was able to get a set of keyboard commands for the Airboard that work great with the Pronto.
