Hi I would like a site that can give good advice on Building a HTPC (preferably a UK site) I fancy building a reasonably high spec HTPC that will also be good for games as well as DVD Music TV etc.

I’m looking at something like
A BIG 430mm/440mm wide case
A good high rated PSU
AMD 64 FX 55
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
2 or 3 x 330GBMaxtor Diamond Max Hard drives
2X 256MB GeForce 6800 Ultras
2x LG GSA4163 DVD combo drives
2GB PC3200 Ram

I would connect the digital audio output to an AV receiver.
I would like to know if I can link the DVI out put to a Panasonic H-42PHD7 42” Plasma. Are there any HDCP issues?
Can I run POWERSTRIP for 1:1?
I would like to connect Sky plus into the HTPC which is the best way.

Oh by the way I’ve never built a PC before (I think I’m biting a bit more off than I can chew!)

Any help suggestions would be most welcome.

Why UK only? You're not likely to find anything that's country-specific. For hardware, www.htpcnews.com is probably better than anyone, and they have users from all over the place. You'll likely find better support for software on their specific forums, depending on which apps/frontend you use. i know I have seen a lot of UK users on the Meedio, Showshifter, and GotAllMedia boards.

i have not seen any HDCP related issues yet, but I have not been looking too hard. The guys at AVS would probably know better than anyone.

Powerstrip? Unless you can find your TV in their forum database or find someone else that has done it, you're not likely to get a definite answer, and will probably just have to play with it.
