My original Remote Wonder finally died :( and I was able to get a RWII. The RWII didn't come with a receiver, and I can't get it to detect on my mac. Is there something on the software side that I'm missing or are the two remotes incompatible?

No, they're very different products. The original was made by X-10, and the II by Philips.
