My Hauppauge TV card came with an IR port and remote, but the software seems to be only targeted at the included TV card. Its working ok for controlling my media center, but there are some shortcomings I am trying to fix.
Questions:
1-Where can I find out more info about the specific IR port that came with my tv card? The website says nothing and they have no forums.
2-Is the port available for use by other software like Winlirc? Is it even compatible?

Mostly I'm trying to find a way to 'mirror' my remote inputs to the IR blaster so that I only have to aim at one receiver, the one that comes with the tv card. Currently the sound (a stereo component) is adjust directly by the remote, but it's low to the ground. The TV input is much higher because it's easy to aim at. I'd like to leverage the blaster that came built with cable that comes with the port.
anybody help? This would appear to be a no-config utility, just repeat everything to the output.
thanks,
matt

Not sure if this is what you need but I have a Hauppauge 1600 that came with a remote. On there website I found a program you run that makes you hauppauge remote work with all windows programs as well even iTunes.

Then I just learned the codes to my pronto and now I have a function remote (except turning PC on/off)

I love technology! I just need to figure out how to use it. Keeping up with it's growing rate is hard enough!

Antec makes a few products that may meet your needs. they come with their own proprietary software that allow use of their own supplied remote as well as media center ir functions. These units also allow for Power controls as well.

I have used these on some of the HTPC's we have built and they work flawlessly
