I would like to keep my old wireless keyboard (an old IBM branded wireless keyboard with mouse) on my upgraded Windows 7 box (Well past getting driver for Win7). However, in general the keyboard works on Win7.

My problem: the keyboard has some custom buttons at the top. Win7 mapped some (i.e. one seems to mute), some are blank. I'm guessing that the keyboard sens out an ASCI code for the custom buttons that needs to be mapped.

Is there a generic mapping SW out there which would allow me to "connect" the custom buttons to start different SW?

Try either girder or eventghost. I think both of them could/would help.
