If the remote's drivers were a separate installation, then even if they're for win9x they *might* work. If it was some all-in-one installation... might be more trouble than it's worth.

I know, but using TV tuner in win2k3 is anyway a problem as nobody supports that....

For me this is mandatory to use win2k3....I just want a way to control all the software from my couch and enjoy dvd's

In a process to find a right alternative...

Thanks...

Might not be much you can do with that particular video card. As I understand it, the remote's receiver plugs into the video card and so is heavily dependant on drivers for that card... might be simpler to get some other PC remote or a video card designed for use with 2k3.

Okay guys....Finally settled on Pinnacle PCTV stereo.....it took 10 minutes to start up and running....

It tunes all of my channels very well....70% of them are as clear as it comes on TV. (My old card Pixelview is tuning around 80% channels only when I use in winme OS)

Recording is fantastic in vcd quality....no issues...no sync problems. (havn't tried other options)

Best part is it's running fine on windows enterprise server 2003 with SP1 (This is officially not supported by pinnacle, though it installed like a charm) Conclusion is if it can work on win2k3 than will work seemlessly on winxp and win2k, it's generally the users inedequate knowledge which create problems....

PCTV driver was of 5.9 version...so no updates required on top of this

And yes remote reception is just great, much better than my previous remote (pixelview).

Installed ChrisTv also and it detected all the channels fine....no issues (cause the drivers are WDM drivers, after all they have to support media center 2005)

Pinnacle has stoped promoting PCTV pro/plus & previous models (got a mail from them suggesting to go for pctv stereo)

PCTV vision software is pretty good for normal tasks...

My suggestion, if your expectation from a tv tuner is not very high than this will impress you very much... and yes very comfortable to use also...

In india market this is one of the best available TV tuner..I can say...

Finally price 2300/---

I am happy and now looking for next upgrade a 21" monitor...let me know your suggestions/deals...
