I am running Mainlobby from Cinemar as my main DVD Library. I can control the screen using a MCE remote for the most part. However, there are several times I need to send a key from a keyboard, such as the letter "u", in order to properly control the application.

I have a harmony 670 remote. Is there any I can program it to emulate sending the keyboard letter "u" (or others) to my application?

thanks

John

You can use an application like AIVMS to map keyboard keypresses to any recieved IR signal if you have a USB-UIRT IR Transiever installed on your system. You can also map keyboard and mouse buttons so that they transmit IR signals to control equipment. I use my Logitech MX1000 mouse to control my AV system.

Check Hip at [Link: byremote.com.au] as this will allow you to do pretty well anything you like with your MCE remote and the softwrae is free.

Ya, whatever. If all you really need to do is map an ir signal to a key there is actually lots of software that will do it and that particular capability is only a very small aspect of what AIVMS is capable of. I should probably think twice before trying to be helpful, it just invites a bunch of 'me too" posts like this. FTR, I think you need to work on that hip thing a bit, all I got were a bunch of windows protection faults and crashes when I checked it out. Just providing some helpful feedback is all..

Thanks for the link. This is the program that I have been looking for. I am actually also using Mainlobby (really DVD Lobby) and have been looking for a way to insure it was maximized and running with one Pronto button and HIP did the trick.

GMPCM I tried to take a look at your software but the AIVMS and the link in your signature were both dead links.
