Ok maybe the wrong place to post if so someone point me in the right direction. I am a Pronto TSU3000 owner so as you can probably guess I am tired of all the problems that they have. I do have 1 still working but I am sure that it is destined to fail at some point.

Anyway does anyone know of any good PC remote programs or cards? This would be programs that could control IR devices like say a DVD player, amplifier, etc.... What I was thinking was that with tablet PC's fairly cheap now and different sizes I could use a tablet PC as an IR remote? I have come across several pocket PC items like http://www.promixis.com/ but I was wandering if there was something more for a tablet PC which would have a larger screen.

Wow...have to admit that the Pepper Pad looks pretty impressive. Wish it was possible to download the remote control program to give it a test drive to see how it handles different file types and macros. It would be neat to be able to program it to replace my MX-3000.

After doing some looking around at info on the PepperPad, I'm keeping my MX-3000. The remote control part doesn't look like it would be as sophisticated as I can get with the MX-3000. However, it would be fine as a secondary remote and all the other stuff that it can do is pretty cool too.

Just out of curiosity, how easy is this program to use and how easily can it be "tweaked" to customize the size and look? As in could I import DVD covers as thumbnails and have a series of them in a matrix filling up a "page" within the window while the program is running. Picture the look of DMX-3000 software for creating DVD
thumbnails when you have one or more DVD juikeboxes.

Any thoughts on this appreciated.

Don,

With IRCommand2 the approach would be to set up a device panel for each of your DVD players. This is a generic remote control panel and does not list your DVD titles. To do that I suggest using a program like Movie Collector ( [Link: collectorz.com] ) to catalog your DVDs. You can then set up a link in Move Collector for each DVD that will command the player to start the movie via IRCommand2. This approach will work with any catalog program that supports executing an external link. Check the link below for how to do that with IRCommand2:
