I have just loaded Windows MCE 2005 onto a old (not that old) PC. All seems to work fine. I have yet to purchase an HDTV card but will do that to replace my Moto 6412 box from comcast.

My other equipment is a:
1) an old but relatively high end Yamaha receiver
2) DVD player
3) Vizio P50 plasma tv

Does anyone have recommendations for a universal remote that I can use to boot up the pc and control all these devices.

My pc has boot on mouseclick - could I use that to boot the pc from a remote?

you would have to learn the mouseclick to your remote. so it depends on wether it is sending the signal via IR or not. if so then theoretically you should.

how did you set up your PC to boot up on a mouse click? step by step is appreciated if possible... thnx alot!

I have the standard windows mce 2005 remote version 2 ([Link: microsoft.com]). I am not sure if that is IR , RF or what.

I went into the bios of my pc to be enable "boot from mouseclick". There are various other boot option but not a boot from usb device one.

Just to clarify I am looking for a remote that would control:
1) Windows MCE 2005
2) an old but relatively high end Yamaha receiver
3) DVD player
4) Vizio P50 plasma tv

I have noticed that I can control win mce 2005 by pointing the remote in the opposite direction from where the pc is but the others cannot.
