Inside Ryan Phillippe's $7.5M L.A. HomeBy Jason Knott
Asian décor and ambient light are a challenge for flat panels and dedicated media room.Actor Ryan Phillippe apparently not only likes working out, but he loves watching TV and movies. His Hollywood hills Asian-themed home, which is currently on the market for $7.45 million, has numerous flat panels and a dedicated media room.
The nearly 7,500-square-foot, 5-bedroom, 7-bath, two-level home, according to Realestalker, clearly has to overcome some ambient lighting challenges to make the media enjoyable. The home abounds with skylights and large windows and translucent shoji screens to divide rooms, making control of light even more of challenge.
One of the home's two master suites stretches 60 feet with floor-to-ceiling windows on one side overlooking the L.A. basin. Phillippe, who has starred in films such as Crash and Flags of our Fathers, has positioned a huge four-poster bed right in the middle of the room, forcing him to look halfway across the room to see the wall-mounted flat panel above a fireplace. Nearer to the flat panel, there is a small seating area and a wet bar. The other side the suite is a home office with a large monitor.
The media room has a ceiling-mounted projector with a drop-down screen that comes down in front of a wall-mounted flat panel. The room has an odd shape, but the seating appears to be nicely appointed.
