Last Minute Valentine’s Day Gifts

Valentine’s Day is worse than the SATs. There are no classes to prepare for it, but the outcome could mean the end of “snuggling” as you know it. That’s a lot worse than not getting into Harvard.

There may not be much magic left in those fingers, but that doesn’t excuse you from the most celebrated of the Hallmark holidays. Show how much you really love that special someone by sharing your greatest passion—gadgetry. Instead of a heart filled with year-old chocolates, these gifts keep giving your mate an extra push into full-on geekville all year long. Now that’s what togetherness is all about.

iRobot Looj
Nothing says love like squeaky-clean gutters. Instead of sending your special someone back up on that rickety ladder, show them you care about all of their appendages with the iRobot Looj. Sure it doesn’t convey your loving voice, like the iRobot ConnectR, but it does collect the funk that lives and breeds on your rooftop. No one likes touching anything like that, but the Looj eats that up (literally!) for breakfast. It’s also starts at a very affordable $100.

Samsung BlackJack II
New lovers want to spend every second together. After a few years, a text message is good enough. Give your sweetie the gift of gab with Samsung’s BlackJack II. The device uses Windows Mobile 6 to create an interface that looks a lot like your desktop computer. The outside has a 2.4-inch color display, a full QWERTY keyboard, and a front jog wheel for an easy, productive work session. “Playas” might appreciate the multiple email addresses; others will certainly enjoy the 2.0-megapixel camera, multimedia apps and built-in GPS. Get one from AT&T before the V-Day and it’s priced under $100.
