Hey all,
Just need a bit of advise....
Ive been making my own buttons on photoshop for years now. Im currently using Adobe CS3 with no problems until today.
For some reason, and i know there will be a logical explanation for it, but for some reason whenever I design a button in CS3, i enter my pixel dimensions for whatever button size i want and when I load that button on to my Prontedit program, the dimensions are exactly half of what i wanted them to be.
The saved png files indicate the correct dimensions in the windows browser. Im using 72 pixel per inch res and 8 bit RGB colour settings in photoshop but changing that doesnt seem to affect anything in Prontoedit. The buttons always work out to be half size. Obviously I can just make the buttons twice as big as I need them to be, but to be honest, its doing my head in!!!!!
And I have also unchecked "auto resize images" in Prontoedit.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Im desperate!! lol
Cheers guys!
Scott

PPI is irrelevant.
Now here's the thing: are you sure the buttons are actually being loaded half size, or do they just LOOK to be half size in ProntoEdit? I ask because the default zoom level when editing for the 640x480 Prontos is 50% - especially on older software versions.

Nope definitely half size. Using a TSU9400 at the moment. Even making a blank white image at 320x240 resolution as a background, shows up as 160x120 in Pronto edit.
Got me stumped!

Seems to work fine for me. Can you email me one of your images? And which version of ProntoEdit are you using?
Also - is it maybe a margin/white space issue?

As far as I can tell, this seems to be a bug in ProntoEdit. If you check the "original size" box by the graphic size and coordinates, ProntoEdit just cuts it in half for some reason. I only had this problem with the QVGA models, not the VGA (9600, 9800). Regardless, there's nothing wrong with your graphics, it's ProntoEdit. The solution is not to create things twice as large in Photoshop, just manually enter the correct size in ProntoEdit.

Yeah I find this a pain in the butt but there are some ways around this.
You can turn off "Auto-resizing Gallery to Page" under "Tools/Options/General Settings". Then you need to place the Images in a Folder in the Image Folder in PEP.
Background Images are inserted in the "Activity Properties/Appearance" and will not shrink.
OR
When you insert a Panel change the Image Size to 240x320 before or after you add the Image.
The worst thing is that if you drag the Image Handle and then press the "Use Original Size Button" it goes back to half size even with "Auto-resizing Gallery to Page" Off...WTF!
I can't believe they have not fixed this yet!
Cheers Jason
