vwpower44, I sent you a PM with more details. I am compiling this list to decide what to offer with 'for sale' templates.

Might consider adding some PC icons for computer sources:
Mac, Windows, Windows Media Center (& Linux & Dos :-) )

DirecTV / Dish / Cable.

Game icons: XBox, PS3, Wii...

I will just list what I can think of, some I probably have, some you may have already listed.

Home
Icons for Rooms
Tivo
Bluray
Netflix
Cable _box or whatever, I usually just us a TV
Satellite
DVR - covers last two
internet Radio - I use a globe icon
Pandora
Power - different colors
radio
Something for local inputs, usually L+R audio or 3.5 jack/cable, sometimes w/video
Apple TV
Ipod Dock
Squeezebox
Sonos
Game systems, i prefer to use the actual system - Wii, 360, PS3
Computer
Door Cam
Cam System
Light bulb -

For many icons I think a good before & after or Active state is important or at least a really nice feature. I usually just make the after state smaller to sort of look like the icon was pushed in.

Do you have a website that i can link to from my GUI blog nerieru? You can send it as a private message if you would like. Thank You.

I'm still working on it, it's not quite 'finished' yet. (I reckon you know the feeling :P)

I don't want to put it out till I do make it 'perfect' (at least good enough for me to not be ashamed)

I'll post it here when I launch it though :). (And a link back of course)

Thank you for your interest :)

Nothing to add so far (to your list)

This is an update. I made a few decisions and i have a few questions. I am trying to keep the icon set right around 100 or 150 including the weather and win applications. I plan to do 256X256/128X128/64X64 and a inactive and active state of each. Hoping to wrap this up in 2 weeks. Thanks everyone for your help.

#1. Please add in the names of your local cable company if you don't see it here. I am including a CABLE TV icon for anything i miss but i want the set as complete as possible.

#2. What about other products like pandora or sonos or the ipod do you use often?

#3. What are you using room icons for?

Note : I am ading a bunch of weather icons for weather modules.

Note: I might do a nice set of windows applications. We do 99.9% residential and i have had ZERO requests for these but maybe commercial or education uses them often enough to make it worthwhile.

Note: I dropped the musical instruments and genres from the list. I don't see a huge demand for either and both are never ending projects. For genre, a music note next to a text button that says "rock" will have to do. Musical instruments are rare and might fall under room icons.

This is the updated list. I have all but 10 of these done.

This is 72 icons.

A few comments:
The complete list would be easier to check against if it were alphabetized or grouped in some order.

I didn't see Cablevision listed as a cable company.

I like to use a generic NIGHT and DAY icon to control some preset lighting themes.

Sirius XM

Slacker Radio

Last FM

Green Power On, Red Power Off

Decora style light switch

Any ideas for an icon to mark "Playroom" ? Most of my customers playrooms are surround zones with a sofa.

Biljard or a loungelike icon? Bar? Really depends on what they use it for.

How about a "Sonic Tap" icon for the new Directv music stations??

Since all of the XM is gone off of there now and all the channels just have a generic icon
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
