Hello all! Im not too knowledgeable about Forums and Threads although I did post here some years ago and got great help.

Now Im buying the Xsight RC, and hope it works out. But I do have one question which I cant seem to find and answer. What if I have a Panasonic BluRay, a Sony DVD Megachanger, and a Pioneer DVD Megachanger and want to control all of them with the remote. Is there an option to label for three similar components? Thanks for any help or thoughts you can give me.

Yes you can name the Device or Activity whatever you want. Daniel Tonks (RC owner) has written a full review of the remote.

Yup! You can also add specific buttons that might not be "mapped" for a particular device code.

For example, I have a Humax digital set top box, come PVR. The code for it was readily available on the remote, but it was missing the recorded programmes shortcut key, that I regularly use. Took less than 5 minutes to add the button, label it and learn the code - though note that lower case lettering is only available when using the included software.

Oh, and another word of warning. When installing the battery, keep fingers away from any buttons and the touchscreen. I didn't and found the default language had changed from English to Danish. Took me an hour or more to work my way back to the settings page to change it back.

Once again, thanks! It should be arriving tomorrow and Im looking forward to programming it. Should I get stuck, I'll be back. I sure hope this one will work out. My previous "expensive" remote was the Sony Navitus, and that was a complete fiasco. After about a month of use the batteries held their charge for about two minutes. Again, thanks

Ok Got the control but.... now Im trying to work around the on off signal for Pioneer 727 DVD changer and Pioneer DVD/Laser Disc. It seems that its the same for both. Any suggestions as to how to segregate these. Once again thanks. By the way this control is easy really easy to set up, at least when compared to others Ive had. Perhaps it will become my go to remote and finally I will be able to put all the other controls in a drawer!!!!

If by segregation you're talking about discrete on/off codes, Daniel's review does briefly touch upon the subject . . .

Of course this assumes there actually are discrete on/off codes for your Pioneer.

You can't get around the fact the Pioneer dvd changer and LD/dvd combo use the same codeset.

What DVD/Laser Disc model do you have?

The Pioneer 727 DVD changer does have a second set of codes (Command 2) but Play is the same as Command 1 which is dumb because Play will usually turn a device On.

Does the Play command for the 727 also turn the DVD/Laser Disc Player On?

Have a look in the Setup Menu of the 727 to see if you can find an option for Remote Codeset 1 or 2 (Command 1 or 2).

Cheers
Jason
