I think the problem is still the crappy technology they're using. Who wants to watch a somewhat blurry movie with weak colors for a couple of hours?

At the theaters they STILL seem to be using a "snazzy" version of the old color filter glasses. Nasty. At home, with the active LCD shutters, the image can actually be really good, as long as you don't see the flickering. The examples I saw at CEDIA seemed fine to me, although I didn't get to see any of them for any real length. As a note, I see DLP rainbows and plasma color ghosting (especially on B&W).

djy: you do realize they skipped every film that contradicts that chart. Where is Coraline, Clash of the titans, cloudy with a chance of meatballs, Alice …

Genuine 3D films, filmed with a stereoscopic camera rig, such as The Polar Express, Beowulf and Avatar...

He does realize that The Polar Express and Beowulf were both fully computer animated and wouldn't need such a rig? And Avatar "mostly"...

That did catch my eye, but I've assumed it to be a "dumbed down" comment for brevity and general consumption.

Perhaps you'd care to send your thoughts to the editor . . .
