I’m pretty suspicious of stuff that comes out a month before election day so I was just waiting and seeing with this hunter Biden hard drive story. It looks like it has gained incredible traction. Joe says it is a smear campaign. It appears as though the emails, a huge number of them, speak for themselves. Tonight, more corroborating information.

Regardless of your affiliation, things like this are bad for us as a country.

It's only gained "incredible traction" in right-wing media. The rest of the World knows the full story, which is so laughable that I may have trouble writing this:

1. "Unknown Person" drops off a laptop for repair and never comes back to get it.

2. The repair shop owner can't swear it was Hunter who dropped it off because the repair shop owner claims he's legally blind.

3. Repair shop owner then looks at hard drive and finds suspicious emails regarding Burisma. Shop owner claims he is "scared for his life" so he makes a copy of the hard drive and gives one to the FBI and the other one to ...

4. ...Rudy Giuliani (!) who shares it with the outstanding New York Post.

You do know that our own intelligence people warned the President that Rudy was being duped by Russian foreign intelligence people, right? Trump just responded "That's my Rudy!"

You are too far down the rabbit hole. I'm surprised, really, because although we disagree on so much I at least thought you had a thinking organ in your skull. Enough to separate the full-on crap from the real story.

Brew yourself a large coffee and read the entire article:

[Link: usatoday.com]

I chose the story from USA Today because it was the top of the list after a Google search of Rudy. They might not be the best choice, but they are not a trashy tabloid like the New York Post.

I can happily send you other links from other sources if you think that USA Today is not trustworthy enough for your taste.

OK, I appreciate that, and I read the full story. I am perfectly willing to be wrong and so I’m willing to take all kinds of input. I didn’t find much analysis of the story other than just an overall discrediting of Trump, Giuliani, Bannon, etc., which is kind of normal for mainstream press, so I can’t really give that a ton of authority.

Here’s an example of the kinds of things that I would read and say that it’s just fluff. “Trump and Giuliani have accused Joe Biden of seeking the ouster of Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin to thwart an investigation of Burisma – a claim that independent fact checkers and investigators have debunked.”

There is no mention of which independent fact checkers, and they did say fact checkers plural, nor did they say who has debunked it. That is about as simple minded as the next line of defense - saying Joe Biden met the guy, and Joe said there was no evidence of that meeting on his schedule. What a worthless comment. What do you expect him to say?

I know he is innocent until proven guilty, but if these are serious charges, and the defense is that fact checkers have debunked it and Joe said he wasn’t there, is that enough for everyone to say oh OK, he must be clean? How about if some of these media outlets actually looked at the laptop evidence? It will probably be revealed more in the days ahead, and maybe it will speak for itself, with no explanation or spin needed. I understand there is not just Hunter’s laptop, there is also a hard drive from his business partner, with corroborating emails, and there may be up to 20,000 emails in the library.

So I hate to ask you this, but would you be willing to look at a couple videos? I know these aren’t your favorite people, but there is a fairly compelling case here. As vice president, Joe Biden gets made the pointman for the Ukraine, later China, and Iran. He is in a position of being a front line negotiator to get concessions for the U.S.

In all three situations his negotiations caused us to either get no concessions, or actually lose ground. At the same time, each of those governments grants significant money making contracts (Millions or Billions) and investments for Hunter and also Joe’s brother. It is a line worth looking into further.

So you can also feed me some more data. Just make sure it’s got some meat on the bone, and I will look at it.

Here’s what I want you to look at, hopefully with an open mind.

What’s with that video where Joe brags about getting the prosecutor fired, saying “you’re not going to get the money unless he’s fired.”

This is the video that gave Joe the nickname, “Quid pro Joe”.

Don't waste your time, he's just "orange man bad". Although he couldn't name one thing Trump has done that is bad for him.

How many sources will you need to see before you accept the reality here? I'm providing as many as I can so you can't say "mainstream media yada-yada-yada":

As for the video you linked to:

If the Chicago Tribune is too "Left Wing" for you (!) I will be happy to provide a dozen or more reports confirming the same thing.

Those links all seem to be the same story massaged. Nothing super contradictory. Looks like one outlet wrote the rebuttal and the others just picked it up and repeated it.

I guess we will see if more info comes out of Hunter’s partner’s gmail account.

It will either corroborate the claims or it will die.

It looks like it could go either way.

Thanks for the links.

Edit: Here is the unspun Homeland Security summary, and link to the full report. There is more than just “old claims” involved. Like I say, it will either get corroborated or die quietly.

The press can be tough on both candidates and sitting Presidents.

What if Joe Biden were a Republican?

I'm not here to do your research. It's plain English. We're not talking about oil prices in Dubai.
