After watching Obama speak out, once again, about the gun problems in the US, and then hearing the response from that idiot Ryan, I wish to thank the GOP for ensuring that Hillary becomes our very own supreme ruler.

It's nice that the GOP cares so little about even trying to do something, that the party will shoot itself in the foot.

On the no fly list and you want a gun? No problem, the GOP says you can.

Need an AK to shoot skeet? No big deal.

Rather use an assault rifle to take those deer? Yup, obviously a needed thing.

I would hope that everyone note how these bums vote, and get them out of the way.

How about them thar fine militia red necks in Oregon?

Good guys with guns.

NOT

They got a $500,000 loan from the government a few years back. WTF are they really doing, protesting? If they were blacks or Muslims with guns, what would be going on right now???? White guys --- with cowboy hats --- braindead idiocracy.

Ever lost friends to a shooting? Guns aren't so cool then. Trust me.

You gun lovers here, if a friend or loved one gets killed by some small dicked a-hole with a gun, is life changing. I lost four friends in one day.

Dont judge me un;ess you have experienced something like this. Thanks

The militia is there to protect the rights of the people who used to own that land. You know, the ranchers/farmers that ruined the land for their purposes and were going bankrupt. The government bought their land for more than a regular citizen would have.

So those poor people were treated unfairly and the militia is standing up for them.

IIRC, they're also there because the BLM is bad because they have rules and charge for use of public lands and we all know that ranchers should get everything for free. 'murica!

I don't understand how people can hear "background checks & closing loop holes" and then their brain translates that to "Obama is coming to take my guns".

If you are worried about having your guns taken because of a background check or because you cant buy guns anonymously then i got news for you. You are not a law abiding citizen. You are a criminal.

The other thing i don't get is why gun nuts think that liberal or democrat automatically means anti-gun. I know thousands of liberal democrats who are not only pro gun but they own more than one and they use them for target practice, hunting and home defense and many are now legally carrying concealed weapons.

This is not a partisan issue. This is a common sense issue.

"Criminals are going to get guns anyway" is the war cry from the gun nuts. Heres the problem with that assumption. Most criminals who have guns purchased them. The idea that teams of gun thieves are combing the streets robbing people with guns is ridiculous. Do thieves steal guns? Of course they do but the bulk of guns found in the hands of criminals were purchased from grey/black market dealers who...

A.Picked them up anonymously at the gun show/swap meet.
B.Are legal gun dealers but are selling weapons sideways.

The government actually does a pretty good job of arresting those who fall under B. but only after hundreds of guns hit the streets. Those under A. Almost never get caught because no one even knows they had the firearm in their possession.

I also think there needs to be some sort of tracking or accountability for gun collections that belonged to people who died or go to prison. My great grandfathered died leaving behind a 1000+ piece gun collection that got divided up between family members. Most of those 1000+ guns were purchased used so the original owners are dead. Any family member holding one of those weapons can kill anyone they want, dump the gun and nothing points back to them. I would wager my great grandfathers gun collection story isn't unique. How many old guys die in Chicago only to have their drug addict offspring hand their guns over to drug dealers for product?

I have one issue with Obama's recent anti-gun speak. "Providing mental health records". Obviously i would like to know if a crazy person wants to buy a gun but if some guy gets divorced and goes a little nuts for a while and talks to a therapist or gets medication i don't think its fair for him to be flagged. Same goes for military men and women who come back shell shocked or PTSD'D or whatever they call it when service people need some time to get back into the swing of things. Should a marine lose his ability to own a firearm just because he came home...went a little nuts for a while? I don't think so.

This is an old NY Times article. I can remember playing basketball at 15 years old at the local park and having a minivan pull up with brand new packaged glocks for sale @ $500 each. A dozen teenagers standing around being asked if they want to buy a gun in broad daylight. [Link: nytimes.com]

I listened to Taya Kyle today, and she did make a very valid point regards background checks.

No, they won't solve all the problems, and I fully agree.

But I have yet to hear someone say "How about we make it illegal to sell Uzi's, etc, etc, and see if that helps?".

I for one see no reason at all that anyone needs an automatic weapons, or even a semi-automatic weapon, in their arsenal. Surely there's no need for those kid of weapons for hunting, or anything else that the average person needs.

I suppose the people that had a automatic weapon put in the hands of a little girl had some great reason for such stupidity?

Some of you forget... King Reagan wanted to ban some of these assault-type rapid fire toys.

The current administration simply wants to keep these stupid toys out of the hands of dangerous felons, and mentally ill.

I see where Texas just approved open carry in mental institutions. You can't make this sh*t up!

They need these weapons for a hostile takeover of unprotected empty federal buildings.

You mean the people who have been terrorized to the point that they finally had to stand together against a tyrannical government that continually persecutes a landowner in efforts to push them out? You obviously are blinded by liberal logic if you think that they aren't peacefully protesting or you dont understand what their reasoning is.

Guns are necessary. Crazy people using them to kill others is not. If guns didn't exist do you think that crazy people wouldn't have another way to act out their crazy ass endeavors? We've got a people problem not a gun problem.

Not judging... I'm sure that if you have been unfortunate enough to know someone who fell victim of a crazy person acting out a heinous act of terrorism then you are probably blinded by the weapon that perpetrated the crime rather than the person or reason why they committed the crime in the first place. You don't sound too pragmatic anyhow.

Welfare mooches with guns are trespassing on federal property. Their felony convictions will be what takes their guns away.

If this is how you describe The Oregon protest how would you describe any of the Ferguson protests just out of curiosity?

Well, I would describe the Ferguson protests as justifiable rage over blacks being killed by police at an alarming rate.

If I were black and from there I'd be very pissed also.

These idiotic boy / men hillbillies should all be behind bars. If they were black - they would now all be 6 feet under.

I read that they tore down some fence to allow cattle to access the reserve. The owner of the fence had to send a crew out to round up the cattle and fix the fence.

...So did you read the link I posted? How is government oppression acceptable by one standard but not by another? The Ferguson protests are based off of a criminal thug who attempted to disarm a police officer and presumably kill him with his own weapon after a routine stop because he fit the description of a perpetrator who robbed and bullied a convenience store owner which is on video tape.

Congratulations though you went from "retarded" to "potato" with that perception. I believe that any common sense you potentially had has completely escaped you to the point that regardless of the facts you will argue your point of view till you are blue in the face because you sir, are an idiot!
