Hahahaha, at what point after the British got rid of their guns did knife violence go up. Try brushing up on British laws before using them as an example and try to make a point while you are at it, not just post a link to random images that mean nothing like they are proof.

The following attitude would help greatly if you seriously want to reduce the death toll.

Steve Elliott

I am a responsible gun owner.

I bought my first gun when I was 12. It was a Browning 12-gauge shotgun, and I saved money from my paper route and cleaning a drive-in restaurant to buy it in time for dove season. In the years before I could legally drive, Iíd tie the Browning across the handlebars of my bike and ride to the fields outside town to hunt.

Iíve owned several guns since, and own a handgun now. I bought that gun to keep my family safe, and lock it up to keep them safe from it. Like I said, responsible.

And so while Iíd like to believe Iím not part and party to the gun violence that stains America, I canít. My grandmother shot and killed herself with a gun, and a few years ago my father shot and didnít quite kill himself with one. My stepbrother died in a murder-suicide with a gun, and the husband of one of my sisterís co-workers was killed in a mass shooting.

None of that happened with my gun, of course, but after every new mass shooting, Iím reminded that I bear a portion of the responsibility for our nationís gun violence. There are too many guns to do anything about it, the gun lobby says. Regulations are a slippery slope that only limit the rights of responsible gun owners, they say.

My gun is being used to argue against common-sense laws and policies that could reduce gun violence in America, arguments I find unconscionable. Thatís what being a responsible gun owner means today Ė Iím responsible. Iíve been uneasy about that for a while now, and ashamed to admit itís taken two more mass shootings for me to do anything about it.

That ended today. Today I disassembled my handgun, a 9mm Ruger, clamped the pieces in a vice and cut them in half with an angle grinder. Iím sending the proper paperwork into the state to report it destroyed.

None of us individually can stop gun violence in America, but as a responsible gun owner, I will no longer be used as a justification for doing nothing about it. Today I did what I could. Today there is ‪#‎ONELESSGUN‬.
I guarantee I'll tell you the truth and I guarantee I'll tell you what you need to know but I can't guarantee that I'll be telling you anything you want to hear.

You can't have a discussion with this guy, he is f&cking nut case. Like most gun nuts they are not able to have a conversation without going to the fantasy side of things.

OK Wolf Blitzer Jr., whateva.

I'd say a room full of people who just shit and piss themselves instead of taking charge of their situation, especially in a matter of life or death, will prolly end up as the pitiful victims they were trained to be. So roddy, you trained to be a victimized wussy too?

I think it's hilarious how you all throw around the "mass shootings" like they are a thing. You guys watch way too much of that TV crap you install - you know it reprograms your brains to be a bunch of MSM parrots. lol

Actually I am a gun owner, I have access to a firearm since I was 8 years old. I have a couple firearms within a few feet of me. My father who was born and grew up in the highlands of Scotland trained me on the use of firearms

You should stop looking at the world from behind your tonsils, there is something interesting stuff going on in reality.

Stop the daily mass murders by the abortionists at Planned Parenthood and I will think about a conversation about guns.

Since Sandy Hook: 87,000 Americans have been killed by guns. There have been 142 school shootings. This just since Sandy Hook?

Now if terrorists came over and killed 87,000 people with in a year or two, would you be outraged?

We should be outraged about the above numbers.

Also, in the last 30 years here, ZERO mass murderers have been stopped by Concealed Carriers. Zero.

Unless you think a valid reason for hanging onto your guns is for use in retaliation against planned parenthood, i fail to see your point. One has zero to do with the other. Although that reasoning would be a pretty strong reason for removing someones guns.

Ammosexuals and the Cult of Conception. Sometimes it's not worth the effort to have a rational conversation with them as it's impossible.

The value of the sanctified unborn zygotes or fetuses are paramount. Actual living human beings slaughtered by gunfire, whatevs. A holy war justified to save the unborn, the living are mere casualties in that holy war.

I don't see that there is a problem needing to be solved.

My take on his comment is that he is pointing out your hypocrisy. But I can see where you wouldn't get it.

The the false dichotomy of 'if you cared about murders then you'd care about abortions' has been present for a few years.

Of course the person presenting it belies that they don't care about gun deaths but care more about zygotes and fetuses, that is until they're born.

Don't forget the tens of thousands of vehicular killings of totally innocent people each year. lol

Love your rectining of NRA talking points. Car accidents are just that. Accidents.

Since Sandy Hook 87,000 people have been killed in the U.S. / 142 school shootings. Pretty cool, huh?
