Why? We often find that when something is impossible, there's another solution to the original problem.

I'm not aware of any remotes where you can pick up one and use it while the other one, sitting on its charger, follows the actions of the first one. You have to push buttons or push a touch screen to change a remote.

Since there are MANY forums on remotes, and this forum is labeled "Everything Else," and you want to know about remotes, I suggest you pick a forum where someone might be able to help. People coming here will specifically NOT be looking to discuss remotes!

Just so you know, Harmony remotes are not seen as pro remotes that can be programmed to work easily, and will then continue to work the same easy way. Since installers want to program something they know will work and will continue to work, you won't find any support for using Harmony anyway.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The only way something like that is going to work is with a full system that uses back-end control processors to manage everything. I would imagine you'd be looking at the bare minimum of $1500 for a basic system with two of the cheapest controls, plus programming (it would not be do-it-yourself).

Otherwise, I would suggest foregoing the full synchronization idea and accepting something that will at least work; ie. traditional remotes (non-activity) that aren't trying to outsmart the other one to the point that neither work. :-)
