Is it that only certain people can send RC Mail? I’ve gotten messages but I can’t seem to send any. Sent folder is always empty and no one seems to respond.

If it says it sent them, it sent them (note that you can always test sending a message to yourself). If you don't tick the "save a copy" box, it doesn't save them on your side.
I see 3 messages in the system sent from your account ID.

Thanks. Not seen that before, not that I’m on a ton of forums. I've seen others asking the same thing. That should totally be the default.

Well, I've changed things around a bit... this is now a customizable item (under My Account), and the default is to save sent items. Also bumped up allowed number of messages to help compensate.
